Here you can hear long improvisations by Steve Coleman in front of a rhythm-section (consisting of Gene Lake on drums and Reggie Washington on bass) which is playing relatively lightly, flexibly and more in the manner which characterizes Jazz. The sound-quality is good enough. It is a very clear, less dramatic, but subtly shaped stream of rather low-key colors in which Steve Coleman draws his lines. |
