| Due to my bad English I write too rarely how glad I am about your FTP Dim. Coleman’s music and your great work are in my mind every day.
I have always enjoyed the solos of Pedro Martinez on “Alternate Dimensions Series Volume 1”. I even bought a CD with Cuban music to hear him drumming and singing. It’s great to see him on your video. I would like to thank you as you do to Martinez and Sorey at the end of the video.
More and more I have learned to really enjoy the Pro-Verb Trio. I still listen to the Rhythm Edition very often.
Thanks a lot Dim!

| Thanks Manfred for the kind words.
The funny thing is that at first I didnt remembered that he was the percussion player in "alternate dimensions". I met him when he arrived from airport and we talked together for some time about him and his musical background, and he told me at this time he was playing on this CD, I said WOW...great CV
I really like the playing he does on this CD.
Then I saw him rehearsing with the string quartet and he was very quiet as the main work was in relation to the horns, bass and strings, Tyshawn and Pedro were a little bit on the back...listening to the others without really playing. Steve was giving indications to them, singing clavé and stuff and they both catched the idea really quick.
When there was a break in the rehearsal, suddenly Pedro started to play some percussions licks in a way to wake up himself I guess and the sound was absolutly brilliant.
I was really curious to see how Pedro and Tyshawn will play together and I had my answer the next day during the soundcheck where I filmed the document available in my website.
I really look forward to see Pedro and tyshawn together once again on stage _________________ www.stevecolemanarchives.com |
