Hi everybody!

Just a few words... I'm back on the forum after a long time away.
Still rediscovering Coleman's after many years of intense listening... I guess this is one of the many reasons why I love so much his music: it provides so many different emotions as I'm growing old. This is like good wine, it takes time to appreciate it in its full "power".

About "weaving symbolics", I still try to "digest" it... and it's good to not "understand" it. Like this I can listen to it without feeling bored.

Also, I still wait for Steve to come in Romania... But maybe the public here is not "ready" for this kind of music... Anyway, I try to "convert" my friends here!

Have a nice time!

Francois

Hi Francois!

It’s nice that you are back!

I’m also waiting for a Coleman-concert in my country (Austria). It seems that the organizers of concerts in Austria don’t invite Coleman. Why? I don’t know. Some people say that there is less interest in concerts generally. – And I see: There is no advertising for Coleman and a lot of advertising for other things – especially for European musicians (I’m going to really hate them). I had a lot of bad discussions in internet-forums and I’m a bit frustrated. I often tried to “convert” some people for this wonderful music. But I was not really effective.

Hi Manfred,

About "converting" people to Coleman's music, I guess that this one isn't so easy to listen... It's not "accessible" to usual jazz listeners. Maybe only the albums with the Metrics are easier... But jazz purists are often uncomfortable with this kind of crossover.

You said <Some people say that there is less interest in concerts generally>

I'm note sure there are places in Europe where people are less interested in concerts... maybe people go to see concerts with other styles of music. For example, in Romania, people go to see Deep Purple, Uriah Heep and other dinosaurs... Funny.

Anyway, few months ago I had the pleasure to see Horizon and Antonio Hart in Bucharest... Real Pleasure!

Have fun! BYE!
