| Well Manfred,
I've thought about how to respond to your last long post and there's only but a little that I can say. First, your question of how music works and how or why it hits our senses has become a most facinating question that I've been thinking quite a bit about.
Truth is, I can't understand why music exists at all! In fact, perhaps music is the finest discovery man has ever made. Why does happy music always sound happy? Consider Neutral Zone; I've always said that this was a "happy" compilation, but why doesn't it ever sound sad? It always does the exact same thing for me, but why? It's just sound, vibration or pitch...whatever you want to call it.
When we say that music is an expression of how we feel, this truly is the case. I know from my own music that it expresses certain feelings inside of me...a manifestation or an extention of my own mind.
Anyway, you've really got me thinking these days.
Thank you, Manfred.
Have the best of days! |
