The sound quality is fine. There is an easy and clear atmosphere in this recording ˇ till the funny vocals in the last tune. Some words which Leon Thomas sang to ˇSong for My Fatherˇ come to my mind: ˇHe could live like a king ˇcause he knew the real pleasure in lifeˇ. The animation, brightness, lightness and sensuousness which the Venice-recording (and many other recordings of Steve Colemanˇs music) express are from my point of view essential elements of the ˇreal pleasure in lifeˇ. The cultural atmosphere of Venice and the charm of Italian way of life fit in. In my text entitled ˇBeyond All We Knowˇ 3 tunes of this concert are mentioned. |
