This recording includes a soundcheck (at the end) during which Steve Coleman is playing with diverse melodies. It has amazed and amused me to hear him dealing with some old popular tunes. He begins · I couldn·t believe it · with ·Jingle Bells·! At last the whole band is playing Charlie Parker·s music in a refreshing manner.
